Do you like skateboarding? Do you like video games? Okay, let me stop you before you make a terrible assumption that if you like both you’ll like Tony Hawk: Ride since the game is awful. Lots of potential, but utter failure of a game. You want to know why? Because the game doesn’t work, and when the whole point of buying a $90 game with a peripheral shaped like a skateboard is to have it function like a real skateboard and it doesn’t, you’re getting ripped off. Oh joy! Not since my time as a wee child have I been so purely excited about a video game. Something about Mario always brings out the best in me. Given enough of Mario’s influence I might even go ahead and become a being of unadulterated elation, floating through the physical world as a glowing light that stops off every so often and anchors itself to New Super Mario Bros Wii.

Okay, is anyone really wondering if the sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is any good? I almost feel worthless here trying to talk about Modern Warfare 2 as anything I say is basically irrelevant (a stark contrast to how things usually work with me). But the bottom line is that Modern Warfare 2 is a good game for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 and makes a good holiday gift. So what more should I cover?
