Kyle and I may not be birds, but friends of a feather, that is quite true.

Today we have the fifth episode of the Too Much Awesome podcast with the return of Kyle Martinak. In this episode, Chris and Kyle discuss the general topic of childhood trends, including what Kyle calls “Schoolyard Currency,” Pogs, Super Soakers, Nerf, Mr. Potato Head, Toy Story 3, and video games. Plus, Chris makes a point of wishing Bob Chipman, the Game Overthinker/Movie Bob, was his friend. So sit back, relax, and listen to two boys reminisce about their childhoods.

Within the episode we reference Kyle’s recent article on his Unattainable Toys, his older article on Silly Bandz, Episode Three and Four of the podcast, Kyle’s Review of Toy Story 3, my article on Toy Story 3 Toys, and the Eight-Part Mario Retrospective.

You can download the new episode here.

And as promised, here is how I’ve set up my shelf for Kyle for the past few months without a response:

Okay, so I haven’t heard the podcast, but can I just say Chris. I always had the feeling you would like Robert “Moviebob” Chipman. In all honesty, he appears to share your exact same interest as far as video games go. While I don’t completly agree with his whole point of view on retro games and how games now can in no way live up to what he thinks was perfect 20 years ago, I still greatly value his input on all his movie reviews and game overthinker videos.
